Hello from the east coast!!! The plane ride was okay, we were a little late leaving Portland but made it to Boston on time. The kids went to Plimoth Plantation and the Mayflower II. It was a good activity to get the kids moving. Some of them even went rolling down a large hill, it was pretty funny.
We drove into Boston and the kids got to unpack at the hotel before we headed over to see Old Ironides and Bunker Hill. After, we went to a fabulous dinner at La Famiglia Georgio and had a LOT of pasta, red ziti, meatsauce ziti, alfredo ziti, chicken parm and meatballs. They even got mini canoli for desert.
The kids were totally sleepy tonight and we were happy to be able to get them into bed early.
Today we did a scavenger hunt throughout all of Boston. We saw three graveyards where many people, including Sam Adams and Paul Revere are burried. Next we stopped at Old South Meeting House and saw where the Boston Tea Party began. We then moved on to see the Boston Massacre site, and ate lunch at Fanueil Hall/Quincy Market where the kids got to watch a bunch of street performers. After lunch we saw where Paul Revere lived with his 16 different children!!! On to Old North Church where got a behind the scences tour and saw the bell tower where Paul Revere rang the bells and Robert Newman hung the lanterns. We then had dinner and headed to Blue Man Group where the kids had a great time.
Everyone is in bed now and I am heading there myself! We are headed to New York City to see the Yankees play the Mariners tomorrow and then to see the play Grease on Broadway and have dinner at Hard Rock in Times Square.
